There’s a danger lurking in the House of Representatives.
Actually, there are many dangers in the House, including all 235 democrats. But I’m referring to one in specific.
It’s H.R. 5 – The Equality Act.
And if it becomes law, freedom of speech and freedom of religion in America will be gone forever. I’m not exaggerating. That’s how serious it is.
The bill was introduced in the House by democrat Rhode Island Rep. David N. Cicilline, and is being co-sponsored by 240 other House members, which includes 3 republicans.
While the bill is quite wordy with plenty of prohibitions on freedom, here’s the official summary directly from the official Congressional web site:
This bill prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in areas including public accommodations and facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, credit, and the jury system. Specifically, the bill defines and includes sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity among the prohibited categories of discrimination or segregation.
The bill expands the definition of public accommodations to include places or establishments that provide (1) exhibitions, recreation, exercise, amusement, gatherings, or displays; (2) goods, services, or programs; and (3) transportation services.
The bill allows the Department of Justice to intervene in equal protection actions in federal court on account of sexual orientation or gender identity.
The bill prohibits an individual from being denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room, that is in accordance with the individual’s gender identity.
If you read the entire bill, it does not make exceptions for religious expressions, religious beliefs and the practice of religion. In other words, your pastor or priest will no longer be able to preach that homosexuality is a sin or wrong. The Colorado cake baker who refused to make a cake for a gay wedding because it violated his religious beliefs would have far fewer legal protections, despite winning his case in the Supreme Court. Under the law, churches and religious institutions would be required to give equal consideration in hiring to homosexuals and transgender people for all positions, including youth counselors, summer camp workers, and even ministers.
And if H.R. 5 becomes law, there will no longer be a need for public restrooms to be designated for men or women. “The bill prohibits an individual from being denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room, that is in accordance with the individual’s gender identity.” In other words, you can decide if you’re feeling more like a man or a woman today in choosing your restroom, locker room, or any other public facility. So, what’s the point in putting a gender designation on the door?
If H. R. 5 ever becomes law, you will see many good people fined and/or imprisoned for what was once free speech. The far left will be sure to put the law to the test, just as they did for the Colorado baker, just to see how far they can go in destroying democracy. Lives will be destroyed. The America we once knew as “the land of the free” will be gone forever.
