If you’re reading an American newspaper, or watching CNN, MSNBC, or even Fox News, you’re missing news even more important than which mean message one politician tweeted about another.
Liberals want to take away our freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. In Europe, they’re far ahead of the United States in taking away liberties. Here are a few examples of how these left wing policies are impacting Europe in a negative way:
- The Swedish government is working to ban runes, the ancient alphabet of the Vikings. The government reasons that because the Nazis used runes in some of its symbology during World War Two, the alphabet represents racism, hate and evil. If this ban takes place, ancient archaeological monuments will be covered or destroyed and runes will no longer be used in jewelry, art, or other forms of expression. Many Swedes believe this is an assault on their cultural heritage in favor of refugees who are flooding the country. Hundreds of people are being prosecuted in Sweden for simply speaking out against the mass immigration of Islamic refugees. In Sweden, to say you oppose the acceptance of refugees is considered “hate speech” and is a crime.
- London has accepted multiculturalism to the extent that comedian John Cleese of Monty Python fame says that London “isn’t a British city anymore.”
- Seville, Spain is welcoming the construction of the first mosque to be built there in 700 years. Like much of Europe, Spain is welcoming Islamic refugees without regard to the consequences of accepting people who are culturally different, and who refuse to assimilate into the culture of the country to which they come.
- A survey by a German research institute finds that only around 20 per cent of Germans feel that they are able to express their opinions in public, especially when the subject of speech is about refugees or Islam. Seventy-five percent of Germans are against the ban of classic children’s literature like Pippi Lonstocking. The bans are taking place because such works are politically incorrect and don’t represent today’s multiculturalism.
- In France, there are as many practicing Muslims as Catholics in the 18 to 29 year-old demographic. It has been proposed that a minaret (a Muslim prayer tower) be added to Notre Dame Cathedral during the promised reconstruction.
Maybe the few bullet points above will give you a feel for what is going on in Europe. The liberal American press certainly isn’t going to mention it to you. It’s Europe now; it could be the United States in a few years.
