As a conservative blogger, I read lots of news and scan lots of media.
To be honest, most of what I come across in the media is horribly depressing. So, you can image how nice it is to occasionally be exposed to something positive.
I came across such a story a few minutes ago. It’s by Fox News producer Nicole Darrah. It’s an inspiring little story about how World War II Veteran Emil Valentine wants to receive cards from all over the United States and from all over the world on this 100th birthday in April. That’s it: a simple little story, but with the power to help make someone’s 100th birthday very special. I will post the link to the story at the end of this article.
My father was a WWII veteran. Most of my uncles were WWII veterans. My mother and her twin sister were civilian war workers at a factory that made fighter planes. There are fewer and fewer WWII veterans each year. Tom Brokaw was correct when he called them the “Greatest Generation.”
I’m asking my loyal readers to send a special card to Emil Valentine for his 100th birthday before the end of April. Spread the word to the people you know who might also want to send Emil a card. You might even want to send a congratulations to Fox News producer Nicole Darrah for bringing us such an uplifting story. We need more stories like this.
