How is it possible that reporting a crime is a crime?
However, lawmakers in Illinois are well on the way to making it illegal for a landlord to report to authorities a tenant who is an illegal alien. Here is a link to the full text of Illinois Senate Bill 3103 (SB3103) direct from the Illinois General Assembly website. It has been passed by the Illinois Senate and awaits House approval, which it will likely get.
The Illinois legislature passed a version of the law last year, but Republican Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner had the good sense to veto it.
But now there’s a new, very liberal Governor in Illinois, and Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker, will likely sign the bill when it comes across his desk.
Illinois is very quickly going the way of California, where it is a felony for a landlord to even ask a tenant about his or her immigration status.
It’s time that we stop making law-abiding citizens criminals. No one should have to be afraid of reporting criminal activity for fear of becoming a criminal. Should they?

I would think the Constitution would have a problem with this law.
